The Partners of Mowbray House Surgery have been in discussions with the Partners of Mayford House Surgery about the possibility of merging the two practices. The decision has now been made not to merge the practices at this time. The two practices will continue to work closely together where appropriate.

Please remember to keep us updated of any change in contact details.

Clinics & Services

Asthma/Diabetic/Heart Disease Clinics

The practice nurses run clinics for these conditions to help patients understand and manage their conditions better. The clinics are overseen by one of the doctors.

Cervical Cytology (smear tests)

It is recommended that women aged 25 – 49 have a smear test every 3 years and women aged 50 – 65 every 5 years. Smear tests are carried out by our fully trained practice nurses.

Child Health Surveillance

All childhood immunisations are offered by the practice and we encourage parents to ensure that their children are fully immunised. The immunisation clinic is held on Thursday mornings.

Family Planning

All doctors offer contraceptive advice, treatment and monitoring. The practice nurses and nurse practitioner are able carry out routine pill checks and depo injections. Implant, coil and cap fitting is also available.

Minor Surgery

Minor operations are performed at Mowbray House Surgery in Northallerton. We have a minor operations facility with appropriate equipment for operative procedures. Minor operations are performed by the GPs.

The GP or nurse practitioner at Hutton Rudby Surgery will advise how to arrange a minor operation if appropriate.

New Baby Checks

New baby checks are done when your baby is 8 weeks old, and are arranged by appointment with Dr Pointen. Your baby will have his/her first immunisations at this appointment.

Well Person Checks

New patients are able to have an initial health check with the nurse if they wish. Existing patients can make use of this service if it is appropriate.

Winter Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccinations are offered every year to those over 65 years or those with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kidney disorders. The pneumococcal vaccination is also offered to all patients over 65.
